Zachary and Mommy All by ourselves!

Zachary is the best big brother.  After Will came home from the hospital Zachary only showed a few moments where I could tell he felt left out. He wasn't jealous or upset but you could tell he missed having his mommy to himself.  So I have tried really hard to set a side some time daily for just Zachary and me time.  Usually it is when Will is taking his afternoon nap.  The afternoon before our Peacock Pumpkin Carve Z and I made some spooky treats....Black Widow Spiders.
Z was so excited to do a project with mom! Even more excited they were spiders!
This is a picture from the magazine!

Making more! I love that Zachary is getting to be so independent that I can let him do the entire project without a major spill, accident, or catasrophe.
We had a great afternoon and the spider sandwich cookies were yummy!

Halloween

Trying to get Zachary to decide on a Halloween Costume was ridiculous.  We have a set of pirate costumes that I got for 75% off last year after Halloween from our Disney Cruise. So I kept asking Z if he wanted to be a pirate. Of course he didn't so I dropped it and he eventually decided on Spiderman.  Fast Forward to Halloween night. Kevin worked until 4:30. My inlaw's came to our house to see the boys. I must add that they came over in costume. It was hilarious. But I don't have pictures on this computer. Anyways, when Kevin came home he changed into regular clothes. Z flipped out. He said, "I thought you guys were going to be pirates!"  What? We totally forgot but since it was Halloween I went downstairs grabbed the costumes off the hangers and we threw the costumes on.  Here we are getting ready to walk out the door with an adorable Mickey Mouse.

This cracks me up. Here's Kevin carrying W into Aunt Stephs for our annual first stop and dinner.

Aunt Steph loving on Will. Notice in the background Jerrytt as a computer robot. Perfect costume for him since he loves all kinds of techology (phones, computers, cameras, etc)

Next stop was my cousins house: Lisa, Darrin, Austin, & Wade.

Then we went to my parents house. Unfortuately I have no pictures of this.  We have decided that next year we are actually going to go door to door trick or treating with Z and W.  We just always run out of time making our rounds to show off the boys.

Trick or Treating

We have a Trick or Treat tradition in our home. I am sure that when Z gets bigger we will change our routine but for now it works. We "usually" dress him up head out to my in-laws house then go to my "Aunt" Steph's & "Uncle" Keran's house for dinner and trick or treating then we head to my Aunt Mary & Uncle Don's house and end up at my parents. At my parents, Zachary and Elliott love to pass out their candy.

This year since we were coming from Topeka and that I was not feeling well we broke the cycle. First we picked Z up at my parents house. Unfortuately my dad had to work so he missed out but he has seen Z in his Buzz Lightyear Costume several times this year. We let Z trick or treat at Grams.

The boys could not wait to get into their treat.

Then they each had to have Grammy show them what it was. Grams got them each a Hallmark Ornament with the Toy Story characters in it. The boys could not have been any happier.

After Grammy's House we went to my cousins house hoping to see my Aunt Mary & Uncle Don there as well. It's funny Z thinks that when you trick or treat you need to ring the bell, get your treat, have your picture taken inside the persons house by the fireplace, and then you need to stay and either eat or play with their toys. I guess this is the only thing we have ever done. In a couple of years our neighbors are going to be shocked when Z walks in and makes himself at home.

Lisa let Z pic as many pieces of candy out of the bowl as he wanted. I did not think we were going to get him to stop. :)

Getting ready to get back into the car. Z was having a BLAST!

Next stop..."Aunt" Steph and "Uncle" Kerans house.

One of Z's favorite things is that Keran & Steph's neighbors bring their dogs trick or treating. He remembered this from last year. Skittles and Chico were the stars of the show. Z & E loved them and thought it was hilarious!

Next stop: MaMa and PawPa's house

Zachary told PaPaw that he needed a costume. Pawpa went to the bedroom and came out with this. Do you know what it is? Pawpa asked Z what he was and he said, "Wall.E from Disney's WallE movie." Cracked me up!

That was our Halloween 2009!

Trunk Or Treat at Grammy & Poppy's Church

On Saturday night Zachary and I went to Grammy & Poppy's church for their annual fall festival and Trunk OR Treat. Zachary and Elliott got to wear their Halloween Costumes. They were so proud of their costumes and even more excited that they were both BUZZ LIGHTYEAR from the Toy Story movies. I wish I would have had more photos but my camera is in the shop and I was using my old one that had a limited memory card.

My parents church was SO generous to all of us. They provided games, inflatables for the boys to jump in, dinner, dessert, live music, and all the candy you could desire. I was so impressed with everyone at this event. Zach and Elliott had the night of their life and I think the adults did too.

Aren't our Buzz Lightyears ADORABLE!

Halloween Night 2008

After a long nap Zachary was ready to head out again for more trick or treating. First we went to MaMaw & Papaws. He loved going up to the door by himself. MaMaw & Papaw had tons of healthy items for Zachary's pumpkin...apple, banana, & 2 boxes of raisins.

Next Papaw& Mamaw gave Z a wagon ride up to Warren & Cynthia's house to trick or treat. Cynthia was so excited that Zachary came by to show her his monkey costume.

Next we hopped in the car to head to Aunt Steph's & Uncle Keran's house. Aunt Steph spoils us rotten because she always has dinner waiting for us. This is Kevin's favorite stop on Halloween. We totally over indulged on hot dogs, chili, Olive Garden soup, appetizers, and Halloween cupcakes. While we were there Zachary loved to answer their door for the trick or treaters. Zachary favorite trick or treater was their neighbor's dog "Skittles". Skittles got cheese as her treat. Zachary is still laughing about the dog that ate cheese.

After Steph & Keran's we headed to my Aunt Mary & Uncle Don's house. When they opened the door Zachary just walked in and made himself at home. He loved hanging out with them and enjoyed all their chocolate.

By this time Kevin & I were exhausted. We had one more stop...Grammy & Poppy's. Unfortunately, Pops had to work but we saw him the night before in our costumes so I will post those pictures. One of our highlights at Grammy & Poppy's was Mel, Wasson, and Charley stopped by. Zachary & Elliott were so excited to play with Snow White...I mean Charley.
